Quavo has released a heartfelt musical tribute to his late nephew and bandmate Takeoff.

On Wednesday night (Jan. 4), Quavo released the new single "Without You." The song, which features Vory on the intro, serves as Quavo's first musical release since Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston on Nov. 1. The Zaytoven, Mike Dean, Elyas and Eugene-produced track is a somber one that finds Quavo understandably waxing poetic about the pain he's felt since losing Takeoff.

"Out in the galaxy, up in the stars/Over the universe, it's bigger than Mars/See you in Heaven, see you in Heaven/When I see you in Heaven, I'ma be with my dawg (Yeah)," Quavo croons on the chorus.

The accompanying video features one continuous black-and-white shot of Quavo in the studio smoking while listening to the playback of the song. Quavo broke his silence on the death of Takeoff on Nov. 12, paying homage to Take in a lengthy IG post.

Saweetie is back and she's got something to say to her ex-boyfriends who like to kiss and tell.

On Friday (Nov. 18), Saweetie dropped her new single, "Don't Say Nothin'," from her just-released album, The Single Life. Produced by 1500 or Nothin, the bass-heavy, bouncy track features the Bay Area rapper blasting a big-mouth ex.

"That's what I get for kissin' on these frogs/He got mad and told my business to the blogs/Nigga, pause, I'm appalled, need to chill out," she raps on the song, adding, "Said he was a boss but he talkin' like a groupie/I knew he wasn't ready for this pretty bitch coochie."

Rumor has it that the "ICY" rhymer is addressing her former boyfriend Quavo and rumored lover Lil Baby on the song. To bring you up to speed, after Quavo and Saweetie broke up last year, there were rumors the "My Type" rapper and Lil Baby were dating after the My Turn rapper reportedly took her on a $100,000 shopping spree.

Quavo appeared to respond to the rumor with the Instagram Story post, "Ain't trippin we can swap it out!" Subsquently, Lil Baby may have referenced Qua and Saweetie on the It's Only Me tracks "Stand on It and "Not Finished."

In the end, Saweetie is taking no shorts and wants men to be quiet and stop being chatty patties.

Polo G's "Rapstar" was a long time coming, and now that it's here, his fans can't get enough.

The Einer Bankz and Synco-produced ukulele-laced trap beat is the 22-year-old rapper's most recent offering, in which he raps about fame, fortune, success and relationships. 42 Dugg and Roddy Ricch's "4 Da Gang" is a hip-hop and rock and roll-infused masterpiece.

The newest joint from the two rappers was released on April 2 and samples the rock band Scorpions' 1982 single, "No One Like You." The TayTayMadeIt production strips the 39-year-old rock anthem to its heavy guitar string core before adding trap drums to fill out the entire track. On the new bop, Roddy and Dugg rhyme about all the lavish things in life—cars, jewelry and women.

On Feb. 21, "The Box" rapper and 42 Dugg were spotted filming a music video in Atlanta that was later interrupted by gunfire. It isn't confirmed that the visual being recorded at the time was for "4 Da Gang." However, it's plausible. Nonetheless, neither of the rhymers were harmed despite two other people sustaining injuries during the shooting incident and OMB Peezy being arrested for his alleged connection to the crime.

Tupac Shakur's "Changes" arrived posthumously in 1998, two years after his tragic death in Las Vegas on Sept. 13, 1996. The track, which features Talent, appears on Tupac's Greatest Hits album and represents socioeconomic struggles for Black America. The socially conscious anthem peaked at No. 32 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Jan. 23, 1999.

On the song, which is equal parts heartfelt and heartbreaking, Tupac also debates the suicidal thoughts he has about the conditions of politics and society that affect the Black community—especially Black men. With bars placed over soulful piano keys, while Talent holds down the melodic chorus, the California-bred rapper delivers the perfect song to sum up the times on subject matter that is still relevant over 20 years later.

Fast forward to 2021, "Changes" has integrated itself into the meme culture on TikTok with the well-known bar "I see no changes" marking the comedic lack of progression within the government, relationships and body goals.

Long before OutKast's "Hey Ya!" was the go-to song on the rhythm game series, Just Dance, it was the first single to be released from André 3000's half of the Atlanta duo's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below album in September of 2003. 

For three minutes straight, the ATLien croons over fast-paced and jubilant guitar strums, which helped to secure the rap group a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 on Dec. 13, 2003. The effort remained on the chart for 39 weeks. Following the song's success and Three Stacks insisting everyone should "shake it like a Polaroid picture," the camera company proceeded to issue a statement reminding users that shaking Polaroid photos can actually distort the image.

2010-era Kanye West was in his bag.

In the spring of 2017, Kendrick Lamar released "Humble.," the first single off his Grammy Award-winning, Pultizer Prize-winning album, Damn. The Pluss & Mike WiLL Made-It produced track features a fired-up Kung Fu Kenny showing off his lyrical skills and recalling times of "syrup sandwiches and crime allowances" for nearly three-minutes straight.

"Humble." peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on April 22, 2017 and was on the chart for 30 weeks. The record has also surpassed platinum status, according to the RIAA, and was certified seven-times platinum on May 25, 2018.

However, despite the success of the single, it was not without its faults after facing feminist backlash over the controversial line, "I'm so fucking sick and tired of the Photoshop/Show me something natural like afro on Richard Pryor/Show me something natural like ass with some stretch marks."

Four years since the release of "Humble.," this track still remains highly regarded in K-Dot's discography.

Despite the success of "Blinding Lights," it did not receive any acknowledgement from the Recording Academy this year for the 2021 Grammy Awards, which in turn prompted The Weeknd to reveal that he'll be boycotting the Grammys every year. During the summer of 2019—June 20, 2019 to be exact—Lil Nas X followed up his Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit, "Old Town Road," with his second single, "Panini." The Dot Da Genius and Take a Daytrip-produced track, which appears on his debut project, 7, only peaked at No. 24 on the Hot 100, but stayed on the chart for 10 weeks.

The catchy, upbeat tune was inspired by the Cartoon Network show Chowder—specifically the main character, Panini, who is a cabbit (half rabbit, half cat). Other facts about the song include that it's the first offering Lil Nas X made in an actual studio, unlike "Old Town Road," which he said was neither mixed nor mastered.

Childish Gambino's "This Is America" had the hip-hop community and beyond talking when the song and its accompanying video was released two years ago.

"This Is America" served as raw storytelling about the current state of America. The track, released during a period of political unrest in 2018, was accompanied by a video with subject matter equally as impassioned as the rhyming done by the Atlanta actor. The Hiro Murai-directed clip spotlights images of gun violence at the expense of Black lives and the complacency within American culture.

Eminem has a G.O.A.T. level resume that includes two diamond albums, but his greatest singular mainstream accomplishment may be his hit single, "Lose Yourself."

Released in October 2002, off the 8 Mile soundtrack, the motivational song produced by Em, Luis Resto and Jeff Bass became Shady's first No. 1 single. It stayed in the lead position of the Billboard Hot 100 for 12 weeks. The track went on to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song, becoming the first hip-hop song to do so. It also took home Grammy awards for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Solo Performance in 2003. It earned diamond certification in February 2018. Nearly 20 years later, "Lose Yourself" is Em's biggest single to date, and that's saying something.

Cardi B is back in pole position.

After dropping her No. 1 single, "W.A.P.," last year, Bardi followed up with her latest banger, "Up," on Feb. 5. Produced by Sean Island, DJ SwanQo and Yung Dza, the Bronx rapper's newest raunchy, club-ready track is already becoming one of the biggest hip-hop singles of 2021.

XXXTentacion offered "Revenge," initially titled "Garette's Revenge," on May 18, 2017 via Soundcloud. The track, which was also the lead single from XXX's debut studio album, 17, was dedicated to the rapper's friend, Jocelyn Flores, who committed suicide prior to the song officially being released.

About a week before "Revenge" dropped, it was previewed on Twitter by Flores. On the Soundcloud description for the song, X penned a tribute to Flores, which said, "rest in peace, jocelyn, I will have my revenge upon the world."

"Revenge" peaked at No. 77 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on Sept. 6, 2017.

Eminem released "Godzilla" when he surprise-dropped his Music to Be Murdered By album on Jan. 31, 2020. It became the first posthumous Juice Wrld song to come out following his death in late 2019.

"Godzilla" peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The music video, which features appearances from both Mike Tyson and Dr. Dre, currently has over 329 million views. It was directed by Cole Bennett and released in partnership with Lyrical Lemonade. The video features a dedication to Juice Wrld during the closing frames.

According to the lyric website Genius, Em raps faster on "Godzilla" than he does on his record-breaking track "Rap God." Genius claims he raps 10.65 syllables per second, or roughly 300 words in 30 seconds, on the song's third verse. This would break his "Rap God" record of 9.6 words per second, however it has not been verified by Guinness World Records.
