In late February, LPB Poody unleashed the JBFlyBoi-produced "Batman." The Orlando, Fla. native shows off his punchlines with clever bars over jumpy 808s. Since the new joint was released on Feb. 12, the 20-year-old rapper has clearly delivered a TikTok smash with more than 2 million video creations being made with "Batman" as the background music.

But the track isn't just famous on the video-sharing app. "Batman" has also secured more than 19 million streams on Spotify alone and has become Poody's second-biggest record since 2019's "Address It."

What's better than one 2020 XXL Freshman? Two. Rod Wave's Polo G-assisted track "Richer" is a standout from his SoulFly album, released last month. The Flynn Cranston and PlutoBrazy-constructed track rides on guitar-laden production with a heavy bass drum and mid-tempo 808s. The soft string instrumentals meshed with the rugged trap beat supports the two rappers' melodic bars.

In the "Heart on Ice" rhymer's typical fashion, Rod offers emotional crooning on the three-minute track, in which he and Polo look back on their respective journeys to stardom and celebrate where they are now.

"Richer" arrived as part of the Interscope Records signee's second studio album, SoulFly, which dropped on March 26 and landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart on April 4. The track saw its own success, debuting at No. 22 on the Hot 100 chart the same day the effort topped the 200 chart.

42 Dugg and Roddy Ricch's "4 Da Gang" is a hip-hop and rock and roll-infused masterpiece.

The newest joint from the two rappers was released on April 2 and samples the rock band Scorpions' 1982 single, "No One Like You." The TayTayMadeIt production strips the 39-year-old rock anthem to its heavy guitar string core before adding trap drums to fill out the entire track. On the new bop, Roddy and Dugg rhyme about all the lavish things in life—cars, jewelry and women.

On Feb. 21, "The Box" rapper and 42 Dugg were spotted filming a music video in Atlanta that was later interrupted by gunfire. It isn't confirmed that the visual being recorded at the time was for "4 Da Gang." However, it's plausible. Nonetheless, neither of the rhymers were harmed despite two other people sustaining injuries during the shooting incident and OMB Peezy being arrested for his alleged connection to the crime.

Eminem's nearly 20-year-old song, "Without Me," shows the more braggadocious side of the Detroit-bred rapper. The track, which appears on Em's fourth studio album, The Eminem Show, also peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 back on June 29, 2002. The record also appeared on the Suicide Squad soundtrack.

The Grammy Award-winning song (Record of the Year in 2003), is five minutes of pretentious free-flow rhymes, in which Eminem places himself at the center of everyone's universe while expounding on his self-proclaimed importance to the industry and the rap game.

"Without Me" is the second single from The Eminem Show.

Sampled from old school R&B and funk artist Mtume's "Juicy Fruit," the track appears on Biggie's debut album, Ready to Die. Diddy, CEO of Bad Boy Records, the label B.I.G. was signed to before his tragic death in 1997, and Total, who was signed to the label as well, both added a sultry and flavorful element to the track.

Biggie Smalls' rags-to-riches story about living in the poverty-stricken streets of Brooklyn, N.Y., selling drugs and providing for his family to later living a life of luxury peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Nov. 5, 1994.

Tupac Shakur's "Changes" arrived posthumously in 1998, two years after his tragic death in Las Vegas on Sept. 13, 1996. The track, which features Talent, appears on Tupac's Greatest Hits album and represents socioeconomic struggles for Black America. The socially conscious anthem peaked at No. 32 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Jan. 23, 1999.

On the song, which is equal parts heartfelt and heartbreaking, Tupac also debates the suicidal thoughts he has about the conditions of politics and society that affect the Black community—especially Black men. With bars placed over soulful piano keys, while Talent holds down the melodic chorus, the California-bred rapper delivers the perfect song to sum up the times on subject matter that is still relevant over 20 years later.

Fast forward to 2021, "Changes" has integrated itself into the meme culture on TikTok with the well-known bar "I see no changes" marking the comedic lack of progression within the government, relationships and body goals.

Long before OutKast's "Hey Ya!" was the go-to song on the rhythm game series, Just Dance, it was the first single to be released from André 3000's half of the Atlanta duo's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below album in September of 2003. 

For three minutes straight, the ATLien croons over fast-paced and jubilant guitar strums, which helped to secure the rap group a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 on Dec. 13, 2003. The effort remained on the chart for 39 weeks. In the spring of 2017, Kendrick Lamar released "Humble.," the first single off his Grammy Award-winning, Pultizer Prize-winning album, Damn. The Pluss & Mike WiLL Made-It produced track features a fired-up Kung Fu Kenny showing off his lyrical skills and recalling times of "syrup sandwiches and crime allowances" for nearly three-minutes straight.

"Humble." peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on April 22, 2017 and was on the chart for 30 weeks. The record has also surpassed platinum status, according to the RIAA, and was certified seven-times platinum on May 25, 2018.

However, despite the success of the single, it was not without its faults after facing feminist backlash over the controversial line, "I'm so fucking sick and tired of the Photoshop/Show me something natural like afro on Richard Pryor/Show me something natural like ass with some stretch marks."

Four years since the release of "Humble.," this track still remains highly regarded in K-Dot's discography.

Billboard revealed the news at the time via Twitter, writing, "@DaBabyDaBaby's 'Rockstar,' featuring @RoddyRicch, officially hits No. 1 on this week's #Hot100 chart for the first time. This marks DaBaby's first career No. 1 song, and Roddy Ricch his second, after "The Box."

"Rockstar" was first released in April of last year and appears on DaBaby's most recent album, Blame It on Baby, which also dropped in April and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Drake just put out more chune for your head top in the form of his latest release, Scary Hours 2, which consists of three songs.

One of the bangers is the previously-leaked song "What's Next," which made its way to the internet last weekend. Produced by Supah Mario and Maneesh, the new track finds Drizzy in flex mode, rapping over a triumphant-sounding instrumental. The chorus of the song contains lyrics from a reported Drake and Young Thug collab titled "What a Time to Be a Slime," which leaked but never officially saw the light of day. Now, we officially have a finished version, as well as a stuntastic music video directed by Theo Skudra to boot.

Scary Hours 2 should serve as the prequel to Drizzy's highly anticipated new album, Certified Lover Boy. Initially supposed to drop in January, Aubrey pushed back the project in the wake of his knee surgery.

Childish Gambino's "This Is America" had the hip-hop community and beyond talking when the song and its accompanying video was released two years ago.

"This Is America" served as raw storytelling about the current state of America. The track, released during a period of political unrest in 2018, was accompanied by a video with subject matter equally as impassioned as the rhyming done by the Atlanta actor. The Hiro Murai-directed clip spotlights images of gun violence at the expense of Black lives and the complacency within American culture.

The 37-year-old rapper articulates issues such as poverty, police brutality, gun violence and racism that have plagued the United States for hundreds of years. The track received mostly positive feedback with many deemed the context of the song and visual thought-provoking and empowering.

The song also won Record of the Year at the 2019 Grammy Awards and became RIAA certified platinum on April 8, 2019.

XXXTentacion offered "Revenge," initially titled "Garette's Revenge," on May 18, 2017 via Soundcloud. The track, which was also the lead single from XXX's debut studio album, 17, was dedicated to the rapper's friend, Jocelyn Flores, who committed suicide prior to the song officially being released.

About a week before "Revenge" dropped, it was previewed on Twitter by Flores. On the Soundcloud description for the song, X penned a tribute to Flores, which said, "rest in peace, jocelyn, I will have my revenge upon the world."

Eminem released "Godzilla" when he surprise-dropped his Music to Be Murdered By album on Jan. 31, 2020. It became the first posthumous Juice Wrld song to come out following his death in late 2019.

"Godzilla" peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The music video, which features appearances from both Mike Tyson and Dr. Dre, currently has over 329 million views. It was directed by Cole Bennett and released in partnership with Lyrical Lemonade. The video features a dedication to Juice Wrld during the closing frames.

According to the lyric website Genius, Em raps faster on "Godzilla" than he does on his record-breaking track "Rap God." Genius claims he raps 10.65 syllables per second, or roughly 300 words in 30 seconds, on the song's third verse.
