Producer London on Da Track's mother, Cheryl Mack, was reportedly called on by prosecutors to testify against R. Kelly in the singer's ongoing New York sex trafficking trial.

On Sept. 17, Mack, who used to work as an assistant for Kelly, took the stand and told jurors that she witnessed R. Kelly engaged in a sexual act with one of the women he is accused of physically and mentally abusing, according to Reuters.

Mack recounted an instance where the woman started to massage Kelly while backstage at a show in Connecticut. "That was kind of my cue to leave," Mack said. "I was very uncomfortable." As Mack exited, she said she saw the woman begin to move her head toward the singer's crotch.

Mack's testimony reportedly also included allegations that spoke to Kelly's need for control. She testified about a situation in 2015 where Kelly accused her of wrecking a party for Kelly's former stylist, Kash Howard. Out of anger, Kelly allegedly made Mack write an "apology letter," in which she was forced to lie about taking money from booking agents.

"I apologized out of fear," Mack said. Numerous people in Kelly's entourage have confirmed that he made them write apology letters out of anger and as a means to skirt his own responsibility.

Kelly's trial will resume on Monday (Sept. 20). He has been charged with one count of racketeering and eight counts of illegally transporting people across state lines for prostitution. The indictment against the singer accuses him of grooming underage and adult women via abuse and fear for nearly two decades, including singer Aaliyah who he married when she was only 15 and possibly impregnated.

The "Down Low" singer has an uphill legal battle as he also faces sex-related charges in his home state of Illinois and Minnesota.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie missed his scheduled performance at the 2021 Wireless Festival after he was arrested prior to his set.

The multiplatinum-selling rapper was slated to perform at the annual festival at Crystal Palace Park in London on Saturday (Sept. 11). However, concertgoers were notified via announcement on stage that A Boogie would not be performing.

"There has been an incident with A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. He is safe and we are working to change his set to sometime tomorrow," the notification read.

The rapper later hopped on social media to notify fans of what stopped him from performing. “SMH Sorry to everyone who came out to see me at Wireless,” A Boogie wrote on his Instagram Story. “Police locked me up before I went on stage for something I was accused of 2 years ago. I’m OK and I’ll try my best to make it up to you guys.”

Video later surfaced that shows A Boogie in handcuffs surrounded by police. It is unclear why he was taken into custody. The Metropolitan police would not confirm the 25-year-old rapper, born Artist Dubose, was arrested, but did release the following statement to XXL: "On Saturday, 11 September, a 25-year-old man was arrested at the Wireless Festival in Crystal Palace Park. The arrest was made by Met Police officers at the request of Greater Manchester Police. The man was released on bail to attend a Greater Manchester police station at a later date."

XXL has reached out to A Boogie Wt Da Hoodie's team for comment.

This is A Boogie's second arrest in less than a year. He was arrested last December on charges of unlawful possession of a handgun (2nd degree crime) and possession of marijuana (disorderly persons offense), after police in Bergen County, N.J. searched the rapper's home and discovered firearms and weed.

Show Out
Snowfall star Damson Idris uses hip-hop as a soundtrack for his life.
Interview: Bianca Torres
Editor’s Note: This story originally appeared in the Spring 2021 issue of XXL Magazine, coming soon.

Damson Idris’ adoration for hip-hop has helped him with his role as Franklin Saint, his character on the hit FX series Snowfall. Born and raised in Peckham, U.K., Damson, 29, was first introduced to old school hip-hop by his older brother then later on to more current hip-hop by his friends. The actor was a huge fan of 50 Cent, but also took to other U.S. artists such as Jay-Z, Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. along with U.K. artists like Giggs and Ghetts.

Here, Damson discusses listening to classic West Coast hip-hop on set, his love for Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent, working with WC and how hip-hop is his soundtrack for life.

XXL: What was the hip-hop scene like in London when you were growing up?

Damson Idris: Me and all my friends loved 50 Cent. Especially, when Get Rich or Die Tryin’ came out. Me and my close friend, we actually used to wear the G-Unit sneakers. Yeah, we were die-hard fans, man. I loved that whole album. It was mostly gangsta rap when I was growing up. But, on the U.K. side, my brother Giggs. That’s the music I loved.

What was it about hip-hop that made you a fan?

The thing that made me a fan of hip-hop was it’s unapologetically Blackness. Hip-hop was just itself. It was unapologetically hip-hop. Whatever that artist was feeling in that moment, that artist was going to say. That has complemented the roles I play, how I play them and the stories I wanna tell. The stories I wanna tell are unapologetic stories that talk about the Black experience and show us in our truth. Show us in our positive light and negative light, but above all things, show us in general.

Snowfall takes place in Los Angeles during the 1980s. Do you listen to hip-hop from that era to prepare for the show?

I listen to a lot of Ice Cube. His voice…when you put Ice Cube on, it’s like you instantly go into character, man. I was listening to a lot of Snoop [Dogg], too, man. That’s my big bro right now. To be listening to him to get into character, now he’s my friend? He texts me. That’s a crazy full circle moment. His “Gin and Juice” and “187 [Deep Cover]” and “[Who Am I] (What’s My Name?).” All of that stuff really helped me. YG, The Game… Everyone out in the West Coast had a part in Franklin Saint.

You’ve worked with rappers on the Franklin Saint character, right? Wasn’t WC your accent coach?

Yeah, so [creator] John Singleton brought in WC in the beginning. Not so much for dialect because I already knew how to do the accent. That’s why they wanted to give me the part. It was more so just stories, the soul, the culture. There were stories and conversations that me and WC had that you’d never know unless you were from that time.

If you’re from South Central, L.A. and you’ve got the part of Franklin, you would still be like, Let me see… That’s how rooted and authentic this man is. If you weren’t that age from that time, you’ll never understand. You’ll always have unanswered questions. So, that’s what I needed WC for in the first season. And then, I was like, “Look, I need you here forever. You’re not going anywhere.” Because when I see WC on set, I just feel safer. We all feel safer. I said, “I got this, but every single actor who comes in here isn’t from here. The same way you taught me to walk the walk, I want you to do that for them, too.”

Are there any rappers that you’d like to meet one day that you haven’t already?

I feel like I’ve met every rapper from the top to the bottom. And, if I haven’t met them in person, they’ve hit me on the DM to show love. It’s such a pop culture show. I’ll be hanging out with Tyler, The Creator to Diddy to [A$AP] Rocky, to whoever. To YG, to [Drake] and OVO. Everyone’s really supportive of my journey.

Is there a rap album that you can’t live without?

Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly.“The Blacker the Berry” is my favorite Kendrick Lamar song.

It’s safe to say that hip-hop is your playlist for the turn up.

Spot on, yeah! When I’m ready to flex.

[Verse]
This is my happy ever suicide
My hands tied behind my breast
My silhouette did pirouettes
The curtains are closing
My baby was my ooh-lah lah, neverlasting
My baby was my cry me rivers and shadow casket
Who could be my lovely, my lovely?
Who could be my only one, my only?
I’m almost just as empty as you think I am, a penny for your thoughts
A wooden hair of happiness, a pretty Ricky Ross
A may-black music, I woke up in my sympathy, became black Judas
All my everythings for sale
All my second hand discoveries, Dungarees faded pale
All my halfway hallelujahs are tippy-toed in the mail
All the fluctuations on scales
And the missing therapy sessions of bullies treating me well
Well, we don’t drink that
If it ain’t the top shelf, nigga you can keep that
Share my life on Telefone, I’m 25 at 306, and 809 became my home
Gave you a taste of my redemption and now I want my drink back
Somebody hold me like I’m almost enough
Somebody told me pray for heaven, saw how tiny it was
Little love from me, we can build this home alone
Alone
Forever with you, forever with you
I’m a home away from home and promise you’ll keep this secret
And promise you won’t forgive me to tell you that smells like peaches
He who leeches on love is a lame, chains and left her for London
Wireless festival reparable, so good when he wasn’t

[Intro: Young Thug]
Aye
We got London on da Track
You should loosen up a little bit
Girl, you should loosen up a little bit
I just thought
You should know
Thought that you should know
It’s a whole new world
You can be my girl
You should know

Got a lil’ molly and coke
Use your nose
Gotta use your nose
Use your nose
Got a lil’ molly and coke
But you gotta use your nose
Fee-fi-fo

Ay, ay, oh

[Hook: Young Thug]

Fifty racks in the store
Fifty more in my coat
Big bank Slime, ho
Spent one or two dimes on her
I spend time with the owners
Big bank, Slime owner

We just tryna succeed
Got some diamonds on my teeth
Tell me who do it like me?
I’m ’bout to tease it
First, I gotta eat it
I got my reasons

Everyone ’round me bleedin’
Yeah, the top floor of the Four Seasons

[Hook: Young Thug]

I’ma get up and go get what I need
Beat the game, somethin’ like Billie Jean
Mixin’ red in a pint with the green
Hit the gas, I’ma tear up the scene
[?], you ain’t tryin’ me
Walked in with a slime with me
Hit up Ellie for a brand new ring

[Verse 3: Young Thug]

Eenie, miney, mo, which one don’t got draws
I’ma pinky roll, pass her to the dawg
Scottie pimp these hoes, show ’em Michael Jordan
All my diamonds bought without the clout
I put it up as if it was a drought
New York niggas call me without a doubt
I’ma ride for ’em like we at the house, uh
Ain’t got a beat in my trunk, yeah
Like factories, I gon’ ride these cars, yeah
Ride a Maybach like a hump, yeah
Backseat turn to a bunk, yeah
I take a trip to ya chain gang, I wanna go to ya compound
Love for every rich nigga except Donald Trump, yeah
All these rap niggas daddy
I should buy some Vans
Money long as a caddy, yeah
All these rap niggas daddy
I should invest in vans
I don’t do no dabbin’ fresher than some ranch

[Hook: Young Thug]
I’m on, on

My bag and me, a bunch on
No more public homes, mama
We on, on
Turn the crunch on, I gotta stay on, on
I’m on, on

Morgenmad i London, frokost i Dubai
(bye bye)

Quality time med far
I får sgu 12 kugler i jeres vaffelis
Turpas, I løber bare

(feat. Stormzy)

[Verse 1: Raye]
In August, I’m staring at rain clouds
A descendant of London
I watch as people are falling like rain
Encouraged to seek other options
I don’t need other options
You either eat it or you spit it out
You’re either silent or you run your mouth
You breathe in or you breathe out
I’m so cold but the sun’s up
Like it’s winter all year, oh
So welcome you to it now
Oh, wait, that was my sound
Could you dig it up or sweat it out?
Could you give it up and sit down?
But after that, I hope you know your place
Cause you just gave me the damn crown

[Chorus: Raye]
And I’m gonna wear it proud
Watch me as I wear it now
I’mma ride this money like a wave
This money like a wave, this money like a wave

[Bridge: Raye]
Now I made it this far, but this far ain’t nothing
If we’re talking ambition, I think you should know that I don’t wanna settle for nothing
I wanna know that I got myself
I wanna ride my money like a wave
My money like a wave, my money like a wave, yeah

[Verse 2: Raye]
I want the future, I want the best view
I’d like to buy all my day ones a house too
Collie, Ben, Jodie, I got you
I’ve got a list of everything I would do
Make that dumb guy regret what he did do
Then he’ll be calling up my phone like “I miss you”
Then I’ll be like “haha, you can go now
Cause you didn’t wanna know when I told you
I’m gonna make something of my life”
Believe that, yeah babe
I’ve got God, he is on my side
And I’m a child of ’97 so I plan to be on time
And I’m ahead of this game
Yes, I were meant for this life, oh

[Chorus: Raye]
And I’m gonna wear it proud
Watch me as I wear it now
I’mma ride this money like a wave
This money like a wave, this money like a wave

[Verse 3: Stormzy]
You know I only phone back
If I know that it’s the money calling
Tell ’em bitches “do not phone back
I am in the studio recording”
Mummy, listen when I’m talking
Mummy, listen, it’s important
I wasn’t gonna tell you, but I thought I’d let you know
That I just got us both a mortgage
Now it’s top floor with these fancy reservations
I don’t even like it, I’m just here for observations
Tryna tell the difference from my people and my pagans
Cuh’ the last time that I slipped, I had a sticky situation
I will never slip again, you can put that on my savings
They wait for me to fall, I keep on waiting
This feeling is amazing, how’s it feel to hate the kid
But deep inside, you know you rate him? Man, that shit must be frustrating

[Chorus: Raye]
And I’m gonna wear it proud
Watch me as I wear it now
I’mma ride this money like a wave
This money like a wave, this money like a wave

[Bridge: Raye]
Now I made it this far, but this far ain’t nothing
If we’re talking ambition, I think you should know that I don’t wanna settle for nothing
I wanna know that I got myself
I wanna ride my money like a wave
My money like a wave, my money like a wave, yeah

[Outro: Raye]
Now I made it this far, but this far ain’t nothing
If we’re talking ambition, I think you should know that I don’t wanna settle for nothing

Grown up life is to learn not to fall apart

[Pre-Chorus]
And I’m closer to high vibrations
Climbing up the sweeter and deeper waves
And what I can do, to make it
To be happy
To be true to me, in every way

[Chorus]
I know I’ll be alright
I know that I’ll survive
I know I’ll rise above it
‘Cause I believe in love
And even when it’s hard
Livin’ with my scars
It never miles to nothing
‘Cause I believe in love

[Verse 2]
Nobody tells me how to grow, no
I just gotta know
Emotional, but I won’t define myself on the past
Balance is key
Understanding I can won’t be always in control
Sometimes the right road goes by taking the broken path

[Pre-Chorus]
Now I’m closer to high vibrations
Climbing up the sweeter and deeper waves
And what I can do, to make it
To be happy
To be true to me, in every way

[Chorus]
I know I’ll be alright
I know that I’ll survive
I know I’ll rise above it
‘Cause I believe in love
And even when it’s hard
Livin’ with my scars
It never miles to nothing
‘Cause I believe in love

[Bridge]
Yes
Keep it simple
Follow my heart
This love I’m into, yes
[?]
The more the time flies away
The closer it feels to wise with age
No energy is giving me life

[Outro]
‘Cause I believe in love
I believe, I believe in love
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yes
‘Cause I believe in love (I believe, I believe in love)
Oooh yeah, yeah
‘Cause I believe in love
Ohh, ‘cause I believe in love
I believe in love

Oi, London
Boy London

Aw God shit
Black Paper
Backpacker
Ask-book

[Intro]
Yo Pi’erre, you wanna come out here?
In New York I Milly Rock, hide it in my sock
Running from an opp, and I shoot at opp (what)

All these bitches want Young Carti, Young Carti (yeah)
Ay, Young Carti, Young Carti (what)

All of your bitches they loose
All of your bitches they loose
All of my bitches they rich
And they stay rockin’ that Rick
What, what, huh, what, what, huh
Rich, rich, Cash Carti, bitch
Rich, bitch, got a rich clique
I’m suckin’ on the clit, she suckin’ on the dick
Give that hoe a tip, told her “Buy some kicks”
Then I brush my teeth, pop up in a whip
Glocky in the whip, glocky in the whip
And I’m cocky, fuckin’ on a thotty
She just wanna plot me, bitch can’t stop me
I’m riding in a Mazi, this ain’t even my Mazi
Oh, that’s not yo’ thottie, yo’ bitch look like a aunty
Walked in with Ashanti, damn, that look like Shanti
Damn, that look like Carti, I think dat be Young Carti
Heard he spent a hunnid on a fucking watch piece, that’s filthy

[Chorus]
In New York I Milly Rock, hide it in my sock
Running from an opp, then I shoot at opp
And I’m on the block
And I’m on the block
In New York I Milly Rock, hide it in my sock
Hide in my sock, selling that rerock
What, what, what, what, what
In New York I Milly Rock, hide it in my sock
Use to sell rerock, running from the cops
Shooting at the opps, you know what I’m sayin’?

[Outro]
Yo, Pi’erre, you wanna come out here?
Bitch ass nigga, fuck that nigga man!

It’s been said many ways
Feliz Navidad and Happy Holidays
Don’t matter if you’re nine or ninety-eight
Everyone’s waiting for the chance to say

Finally it’s Christmas, yeah, feels good
Around this time of year
You can’t deny there’s something in the air
If you’re in London or in Santa Fe
You’ll hope for snow to fall on Christmas day
Finally it’s Christmas

Don’t delay
Santa’s on his way
So get your stockings up
In time for Christmas day
Don’t dismay
Throw your cares away
It’s gonna be okay
Finally it’s Christmas
Finally it’s Christmas
Feels like we’ve been waiting all year
Finally it’s Christmas
Can’t you feel the Christmas time cheer

All of the plans are made
So tell your urgent caller it can wait
Just sit back and listen for the reindeer on the rooftop
Flying North Pole to Tulsa on a non-stop

I hear the church bells ring
The chorus welcoming the newborn king
Good will and love is what the savior brings
Now the world comes together and sings

Finally it’s Christmas
Feels like we’ve been waiting all year
Finally it’s Christmas
Can’t you feel the Christmas time cheer
Finally it’s Christmas

(Shake your Christmas bells)

Don’t delay
Santa’s on his way
So get your stockings up
In time for Christmas day
Don’t dismay
Throw your cares away
It’s gonna be okay
Finally it’s Christmas day

Shake your Christmas bells

Finally it’s Christmas
Feels like we’ve been waiting all year
Finally it’s Christmas
Feels like we’ve been waiting all year
(Finally it’s Christmas)

Finally it’s Christmas

If Chronixx has his way then the government would promote a massive concert for Buju Banton when he is released next year.

The young reggae act made a surprised performance at Dubwise in St. Andrew last weekend where he calls for the Jamaican government to support reggae music, as well as, to host a massive concert for Buju Banton. “It is the number one export in this country,” Chronixx said about reggae/dancehall music.

“It’s the only thing that we export all year round. The city of London invite me the city of Kingston neva invite me to do a show yet, enuh,” the singer added. “They don’t think it’s worth it to say we are going to put in our budget $20 million for Buju Banton and Sizzla to perform.”

Buju Banton is a legend in reggae and dancehall music after starting out his career doing hardcore dancehall and later transitioned into Jamaica’s more conscious musical art form. The Grammy-winning reggae singer is currently serving a 10 year prison sentence for drug trafficking and will be released from prison at the end of next year. Buju was convicted in 2011 for three counts of drug trafficking and filed numerous appeals which he lost.

Do you think that the Jamaican government should fund a Buju Banton benefit concert when he is released?

The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) set to honour Richie Stephens on October 16th, in London, England.

ASCAP is the only American based association that protects the copyrights of songwriters, composers and music publishers by monitoring public performance of their music, whether it be live performance or via broadcast, and appropriately compensate them.

Richie Stephens is a successful Jamaican singer/ producer for over two decades; he was born and raised in Westmoreland. Stephens recorded his very first song in 1984 but did not hit stardom until the 1990’s . The reggae crooner was not only a Grammy Award winner but was also awarded the Jamaican Governor-General’s Achievement Award for contributing to civic, social and recreational projects in and around his birth parish.

Stephens will be given an American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) award for his contribution to Rihanna’s chart-topping single ‘Work’. ‘Work’, captured the song of the year and also sold the most digital copies for 2016. Stephens contributed the Sail Away ‘riddim’ on the Pot of Gold label to the hit, and was credited on the song as a co-writer.

In April, Stephens was awarded his first American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) Pop Music Awards in Hollywood. “I am so blessed to be honored in the United Stated and now to be recognized in England. It is a major accomplishment at this time in my career. I share this award with my fans globally and three members of the Ska Nation Band who will accompany me on the red carpet in London,” said Stephens

Some of Stephens most popular songs includes “Winner,” “Color of Love,” “Live your Life,” and “Reggae Evolution.”

Rihanna says she will not watch Chris Brown new documentary “Welcome To My Life” where he opened up about brutally beating her.

The “Grass Ain’t Greener” crooner premiered his new documentary Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life last week. The cut made headlines for a segment where he opened up in-depth about the night in 2009 when he assaulted Rihanna, an incident that would change his life forever. In the clip, he spoke about punching his pop superstar girlfriend at the time with his closed fist and tasting blood inside his Lamborghini.

Sources inside the Bajan pop star’s circle told us that she has not watched the documentary and has no plans to. “No she (Rihanna) hasn’t watched it, in fact, none of us did and there is no plans to,” sources told Dancehallhiphop.com. “There are only two persons that know the true story about what happened then and it’s pretty clear who those two people are. I think RiRi has put all of that behind her and I think the other party should do the same and stop bringing back these old wounds. They were both young when this unfortunate incident happened and now they are older and more mature and have moved on from that. The rest of the world should do the same.”

Chris Brown also detailed his relationship with Rihanna in the months leading up to the assault on the night before the 2009 Grammy Awards. The singer says that he and RiRi always have big fights to the point that their relationship became toxic. He also confessed to lying to her about another female he had sex with and that made her not trust him anymore. Rihanna is currently dating Saudi billionaire Hassan Jameel. Just last weekend the pair were spotted on a dinner date out in London.

Our source told us that Rihanna has not spoken to Chris Brown in years, but she isn’t holding any grudges against him. “She wishes him well and will forever care about him,” sources added. “But she has moved on and don’t feel the need to keep in contact with him.”

Ah yes baby you know
I have a Rolls Royce
A Mercedes Benz
And a yacht out in marina
Maybe we can take a trip
And you know

Just go out to the Bahamas
Or Paris, or London, you know
I know all the stars, baby
In fact, Sugar Ray is a personal friend of mine
In fact, just the other day I was sayin’
Sugar, you know you and i should just stop by sometime

You told me about your fancy cars
You told me all your friends were stars
You said that we could get away
Maybe take a holiday

I hope that it won’t be too long
You saw that i could sing a song
You got this and you got that
And i’ll end up flat on my back
Oh you got to show me, show me

Show me baby It ain’t no lie
Show me baby In front of my eyes
Show me baby It ain’t no lie
Show me baby In front of my eyes

You know that you’re my only girl
If i could, i’ll give you the world
You said baby you just stick with me
And one day you’ll surely see
No more wastin’ my time

You got yours, keep your hands off mine boy
Baby, you got to make me see
You got to show me what you’re tellin’ me
You told me about your fancy cars
You told me all your friends were stars
You said that we could get away (get away boy)
Maybe take a holiday

I hope that it won’t be too long, no
You saw that i could sing a song
You got this and you got that
And i’ll end up flat on my back
No more wastin’ my time
You got yours, keep your hands off mine boy
Baby you got to make me see
You got to show what you’re tellin’ me

Show me baby It ain’t no lie
Show me baby In front of my eyes
Show me baby It ain’t no lie
Show me baby In front of my eyes
Show me baby, show me baby
You got to show me boy
Show me baby, show me baby…

[ENSEMBLE]
If you live around here
You need cash in the bank
‘Cause the houses ’round here
Are all flashy and swank
An’ the front bit, ha
‘at’s what’s called a facade!

All the people ’round here
Are as posh as can be
You won’t seem hobnobbin’
With rubbish like me
It’s the snob bit
Also called a facade

Every day
People, in their own sweet way
Like to add a coat of paint
And be what they ain’t!

That’s how our little –
Game is played
Livin’ out their masquerade
Getting rich and getting laid
Who’d want to trade?

But there’s one thing I know
And I know it for sure:
This disease that we’ve got
Has got no ready cure!
And I’m certain
Life is terribly hard
When your life’s a facade!

Every night here one house
Or another is a funhouse
‘Cause there’s someone giving a party
As you see, sir!

This one here tonight
Is rather special, am I right?
It’s the betrothal of Sir Danver’s
Daughter, Lisa

Sir Danvers Carew is a good man
They call him the creme de la creme
Whatever that means
He’s a bloody sight better than them!

Nearly everyone you meet
When walking down a London street
Pretends to be a pillar of society

A model of propriety
Sobriety, and piety
Who’s never even heard of notoriety

The ladies an’ gents ‘ere before you
Which none of ’em ever admits
May have saintly looks
But they’re sinners an’ crooks!

Hypocrites!

If you live around here
You need lots of panache
If you live in down, dear
Then you must cut a dash
T’isn’t hard, dear
To create a facade

You must seem to be rich
And to have money to burn
Even though it’s a bitch
Spending more than you earn
That’s the game here
And the name is facade

One or two
Might look kinda well-to-do
But I bet you precious few
Have payed for their boots

I’m inclined to think –
Half mankind thinks the other
Half is blind
Wouldn’t be surprised to find
They’re all in cahoots

At the end of the day
They don’t mean what they say
They don’t say what they mean
They don’t ever come clean
And the answer
Is it’s all a facade

Call a walk promenade
Call a street boulevard
Grease your hair with pomade
You’ll be held in regard

And I betcha
If you stay on your guard (stay on your guard)
They’ll all say you’re a card
People love the facade (stay on your guard)
What’s behind the facade?

[JEKYLL]
Look behind the facade

[SIR DANVERS]
My dear Simon
You’re so gracious
To wish Lisa and Henry both well

[STRIDE]
Dear Sir Danvers
As you know, Sir
I wish Lisa the sun and the moon
But I have to confess that I wish Henry Jekyll in hell!

[UTTERSON]
(spoken) Henry, at last. What could possibly be more important than your own engagement party?

[JEKYLL]
John, I am close to a breakthrough discovery!
Something spectacular, something sublime!
Finally, a light in the darkness has come to me!
Now it is only a matter of time!

[DR HASTIE LANYON]
Henry Jekyll, you’re a devil
You have robbed us of London’s most lovely girl

[MR RICHARD ENFIELD]
I could turn to drink when I stop to think
Lisa’s marrying a doctor instead of an earl

[BOTH]
Poor girl!

[STRIDE ]
Doctor Jekyll, may I be the first to wish
You and your bride-to-be
Peace and prosperity?

[JEKYLL]
Mr. Stride, it’s most civil of you
To say that, as you do
With such patent sincerity!

More convenient that a Tesco express
Close to Windsor but the properties less
Keeps the businesses of Britain great
It’s got Europe’s biggest trading estate

It doesn’t matter where you’re from
You wanna work? Then come along
The station’s just got a new floor
And the motorway runs by your door

And you know just where you’re heading
It’s equidistance ‘tween London and Reading

Oh Slough
My kind of town
I don’t know how, anyone could put you down

To the West you got Taplow and Bray
You got Hillingdon the other way
It’s a brilliant place to live and work
It was in Bucks now officially it’s Berks

Don’t listen to what the critics say
Like it’s soulless, and boring and grey
See for yourself, what you waiting for?
We’re on the Bath road, that’s the A4

And you know just where you’ll be heading
It’s equidistance ‘tween London and Reading

Oh Slough
My kind of town
I don’t know how, anyone could put you down

Oh Slough
My kind of town
I don’t know how, anyone could put you down

Slough [x4]

Destiny, destiny protect me from the world
Destiny, hold my hand protect me from the world
Here we are with our running and confusion
And I don’t see no confusion anywhere

And if the world does turn
And if London burns I’ll be standing on the beach with my guitar
I wanna be in a band when I get to heaven
Anyone can play guitar
And they won’t be a nothing anymore

Grow my hair, grow my hair
I am Jim Morrison
Grow my hair
I wanna be wanna be wanna be Jim Morrison

Here we are with our running and confusion
And I don’t see no confusion anywhere
And if the world does turn
And if London burns I’ll be standing on the beach with my guitar
I wanna be in a band when I get to heaven
Anyone can play guitar
And they won’t be a nothing anymore

At the end of the day
They don’t mean what they say
They don’t say what they mean
They don’t ever come clean
And the answer
Is it’s all a facade

Call a walk promenade
Call a street boulevard
Grease your hair with pomade
You’ll be held in regard

And I betcha
If you stay on your guard (stay on your guard)
They’ll all say you’re a card
People love the facade (stay on your guard)
What’s behind the facade?

[JEKYLL]
Look behind the facade

[SIR DANVERS]
My dear Simon
You’re so gracious
To wish Lisa and Henry both well

[STRIDE]
Dear Sir Danvers
As you know, Sir
I wish Lisa the sun and the moon
But I have to confess that I wish Henry Jekyll in hell!

[UTTERSON]
(spoken) Henry, at last. What could possibly be more important than your own engagement party?

[JEKYLL]
John, I am close to a breakthrough discovery!
Something spectacular, something sublime!
Finally, a light in the darkness has come to me!
Now it is only a matter of time!

[DR HASTIE LANYON]
Henry Jekyll, you’re a devil
You have robbed us of London’s most lovely girl

[MR RICHARD ENFIELD]
I could turn to drink when I stop to think
Lisa’s marrying a doctor instead of an earl

[BOTH]
Poor girl!

[STRIDE ]
Doctor Jekyll, may I be the first to wish
You and your bride-to-be
Peace and prosperity?

[JEKYLL]
Mr. Stride, it’s most civil of you
To say that, as you do
With such patent sincerity!

Have you seen the old man
In the closed-down market
Kicking up the paper,
With his worn out shoes?
In his eyes you see no pride
Hand held loosely at his side
Yesterday’s paper telling yesterday’s news

So how can you tell me you’re lonely,
And say for you that the sun don’t shine.
Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London
I’ll show you something to make you change your mind

Have you seen the old girl
Who walks the streets of London
Dirt in her hair and her clothes in rags?
She’s no time for talking,
She just keeps right on walking
Carrying her home in two carrier bags.

So how can you tell me you’re lonely,
And say for you that the sun don’t shine.
Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London
I’ll show you something to make you change your mind

In the all night cafe
At a quarter past eleven,
Same old man sitting there on his own
Looking at the world
Over the rim of his tea-cup,
Each tea lasts an hour
Then he wanders home alone

So how can you tell me you’re lonely,
Don’t say for you that the sun don’t shine.
Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London
I’ll show you something to make you change your mind

Have you seen the old man
Outside the Seaman’s Mission
Memory fading with the medal ribbons that he wears
In our winter city,
The rain cries a little pity
For one more forgotten hero
And a world that doesn’t care

So how can you tell me you’re lonely,
And say for you that the sun don’t shine.
Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London
I’ll show you something to make you change your mind

Can’t touch this
Can’t touch this
Can’t touch this (oh-oh oh oh oh-oh-oh)
Can’t touch this (oh-oh oh oh oh-oh-oh)

Look in my eyes man u can’t touch this

Fresh new kicks and pants
You got it like that now you know you wanna dance
So move out of your seat
And get a fly girl and catch this beat
While it’s rollin’ hold on pump a little bit
And let me know it’s going on like that like that
Cold on a mission so pull on back
Let ’em know that you’re too much
And this is a beat uh u can’t touch

Yo I told you u can’t touch this
Why you standing there man u can’t touch this
Yo sound the bells school is in sucker u can’t touch this

Give me a song or rhythm
Making ’em sweat that’s what I’m giving ’em
Now they know when you talk about the Hammer
You talk about a show that’s hyped and tight
Singers are sweatin’ so pass them a mic
Or a tape to learn what it’s gonna take
And now he’s gonna burn
The charts legit either work hard
Or you might as well quit

Go with the flow in a spin if you can’t move to this
Then you probably are dead
So wave your hands in the air
Bust through the moves run your fingers through your hair

Move slide your rump
Just for a minute let’s all do the bump
Bump bump bump yeah

I’m dope on the floor and I’m magic on the mic
Now why would I ever stop doing this
With others makin’ records that just don’t hit
I toured around the world from London to the bank
It’s Hammer go Hammer
It’s a Hammer yo Hammer and the rest go and play

Can’t touch this (oh-oh oh oh oh-oh-oh)
